Embracing a Lifestyle of Travel and Elegance
Abigail Spencer has always been drawn to the idea of living on the move. Whether it's for work or personal reasons, she's mastered the art of making travel both stylish and practical. Her approach to summer style is all about creating a system that supports her nomadic lifestyle.
Spencer, known for her role in Suits, shared her thoughts on how she balances fashion with functionality. "Everything has to be easy and able to travel," she said. "It’s all about figuring out a system for travel." Her recent projects include filming Clean Hands in Georgia alongside Zach Braff and later heading to upstate New York for Best Medicine with Josh Charles. In between, she made a stop in Los Angeles to host a party celebrating the 30th anniversary of French skincare brand Bioderma at the iconic Chateau Marmont.
"I love throwing parties," Spencer said. "I enjoy creating a floral story for a brand." She brought in friends like Zooey Deschanel, Melanie Lynskey, and Kim Raver, along with beauty insiders and Bioderma executives, to celebrate the occasion.
Spencer's introduction to Bioderma came while she was filming abroad. "The only way anyone takes their makeup off in Hollywood is because of Bioderma," she explained. During her time filming Angela's Eyes, she faced issues with acne due to prolonged makeup use. A makeup artist introduced her to Bioderma, which became a staple in her routine. "The wipes have saved me many nights after events," she said, adding that they also help with stains.
Bioderma, which launched abroad in 1995, recently expanded into the U.S. through stores like Ulta, Target, and CVS. The brand is set to open its first corporate office in Houston next year. To celebrate, Bioderma partnered with Spencer for a dinner party, where she handled the floral arrangements and hospitality.
Spencer also co-hosted a June event for Bioderma in Toronto. When asked about her travel essentials, she emphasized the importance of keeping things fun, easy, and reusable. "You’ll see the coordination of all these pieces. They all go together."
Looking ahead, Spencer has upcoming projects in Italy and Paris, as well as plans to visit her home away from home in Ojai. "It feels like a world away when I'm up there," she said.
